Opened to the public on 5 December 2012 at a cost of £11.75 million, Eastside City Park is a 6.75 acre urban park located in the Eastside district of the city centre. This multi-award-winning development features more than 300 trees, a 110-metre canal water feature and a public square with 21 jet fountains.

Staying with water, the greater Birmingham area is home to over 100 miles of canals, in fact, it has more canals than Venice! The busiest part of the canal network is Gas Street Basin, just a short walk from The Octagon. Here you’ll find, colourful boats and historic canal architecture right next to vibrant modern restaurants, cafes and bars. The canal network is a great place for walking, running or cycling or just exploring the city and beyond.
Edgbaston Reservoir a 70-acre open-water site is also a haven for walkers, joggers, nature lovers and those looking to try their hand at sailing and rowing. As well as being a great place for recreational pursuits, it is a designated Local Nature Reserve and a site of historic importance.
Just minutes from the city centre, Birmingham Botanical Gardens is one of the UK’s most historic and beautiful botanic gardens. As well as stunning Victorian glasshouses and landscaped grounds, the Botanical Gardens has a packed event calendar throughout the year.
